Talented instructor in Taipei

We have dear friends in Taiwan that love B Line Designs and have sent us several samples that we just had to share.  They are very creative and beautiful.  Thank you to Laura Liu the owner of Created With Love in Taipei for sending the samples and to her talented instructor Wei.

Lunch at the Bistro

Bob and I had lunch at a bistro in Paris very simular to our stamp Bistro(VI111G).  I've added the lamp post (UK108D) to the street side and leaned a bike (BB502F) against it just as we saw in so many little bistros and cafes.  The cool thing about getting to travel is now when I make cards like these I can smell the bread and flowers, and hear the people speaking in french and the sound of traffic in my head.  It takes me there again and again.  ;)

Classic Form

Style, composition, and form are presented in this card.
1. Stamp B Line Designs Classic Dress Form LF101F in black Memories in on White card stock.
2. Stamp the words Sytle, Form, and Composition from B Line Designs Glamour quartet BA111D.
3. Color with Prisma Color pencils on bow, wire skirt, and pearls.
4. Cut white cardstock to desired size.
5. Cut mauve 1/4" larger then white and then citron green 1/4" larger then mauve.
6. Glue or double stick tape layers.
7. Fold card stock in half and score. Now cut 1/2" larger then the largest layer.
8. Glue on layers.

Inspiration

As a designer, I am constantly looking for sources of inspiration. One of these is the Third Thursday Basement Babes group I belong to. This group is made up of extremely talented and wonderful ladies who meet once a month in the home of my dear friend, Jen Lowe. Jen has her own company, Jen-Lowe-Designs and is one of the most versatile artists I know. You will definitely want to check out her blog @ http://www.jen-lowe-designs.blogspot.com. She has been blogging every day for over a year now! Amazing!

This past Thursday we all sat down and created Valentine cards for B Line. What fun we had! You will absolutely want to look at our Art Gallery section here at B Line to see all the wonderful work that was created that day.

One Stamp Challenge

Have you ever looked at a stamp you love and wondered how many ways you could use it? This was my challenge with one of my favorite stamps – Sledding (H0140D). This wonderful stamp is so versatile and can be used to make great cards all winter long! Check out the following three card samples and you will see what I mean!

All three cards use the masking technique which consists of stamping the main image on your card and then again on a piece of scrap paper or a post-it note close the sticky area. Then cut out the paper image just inside the black outline. Finally, if using regular paper, use temporary adhesive on the back of the image and affix over the top of the same stamped image on your card. Now stamp other images around it and over the top.

For Card #1, stamp Sledders on card stock. Mask image. Now stamp Home Sweet Home (HC119F)in the background, slightly over mask.

Color. Add glitter to accent snow.

For the second sample, once again stamp sledders and mask. Create a curved mask from lightweight paper. Place in various locations over the sledders and stamp Pine tree (H0103D) multiple times to resemble a forest. Add glitter to represent snow.

Lastly, the third sample is made to look as if you are looking into the sledding scene through the trees. Stamp Bough from the Bough Duo (H0130G) and mask. Now stamp Sledding. Color. Affix to blue card which has been pre-stamped with Snowflake Border (H0141E) in white ink.

Voila! You have just made 3 different fabulous cards using the same image. Susan Mostek, Designer.
